The last couple of trips we targeted fluke in the bay. Mostly short fluke,with a handful of keepers. Largest was 4 pounds. Maureen was high hook today, catching 6 fluke with two keepers.
Mike and his family aboard. Caught one keeper bass on the hook. Dog fish invaded us so we drifted the inlet. 4 drifts produced 3 more keeper bass up to 39″, and dropped a larger one. Having their limit we switched to fluke in the bay for nothing.
Fishing was very slow this weekend. Managed to boat one keeper bass, some bluefish, and a short bass. Unable to hook up with the fluke.
We are anxious to start the 2018 fishing season. The weather has been rough this winter which will probably mean a late start of fish arriving in the waters of Moriches Bay.
